The City of Unley is pleased to share with you A Smart Plan for the City of Unley 2023-2027 

This plan describes how Council will use technology and data to enhance the lifestyle of residents, better manage the environment, support the local economy, and continuously improve the delivery of Council services. 

A Smart Plan for the City of Unley sets out agreed goals and principles for smart enablement and aligns closely to our Four-Year Plans and Community Plan to accelerate and strengthen their delivery. 

Council staff developed the plan following extensive industry research and consultation, considering: 

  • Our goals - What are the things we want to achieve with technology and data? 

  • Our principles – What are the values we apply when making decisions about smart technology? 

  • What are the current and future challenges and opportunities for Unley? 

  • What are we already working on that could benefit from smart technology? 

  • What have we learnt from smart initiatives already delivered? 

The result is a plan for the City of Unley that is pragmatic and aligned to our community’s needs, but also has its eye on the future, embracing innovation and emerging technologies and opportunities. 

Privacy and Transparency 

Engagement with staff, Elected Members and the community has shown us that privacy and transparency are values that are important to us all. 

In response to this, on June 14th, 2023, Council endorsed a refreshed Privacy Policy which outlines Council’s position on the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information, and how Council will adopt a best practice approach to managing personal information and data to ensure the protection of privacy.

Open Data Portal 

With a commitment to transparency and accessibility, the City of Unley has embraced the power of open data, allowing residents, businesses, researchers, and other government agencies to explore and use a diverse range of Council datasets.
