Gather Round comes to Unley

Gather Round is back, and Unley Oval will host training sessions and Captain's Runs for some of the biggest teams in the AFL, with fans coming to Unley to see their favourite players prepare for their matches in SA.
This year, our city warmly welcomes Sydney crosstown rivals the Swans and Giants, the Richmond Tigers from Melbourne and Perth’s Eagles.
Supporters are encouraged to come and watch their players' trainings and pre-game runs on Unley Oval’s new playing surface, which has been totally replaced since the previous Gather Round events in 2023.
Starting on Tuesday 8 April, see the West Coast Eagles as they prepare for their game from 9.30am to midday.
They’ll be back for another session at the same time Thursday 10 April. In the afternoon, meet the Sydney Swans stars – they will be doing signings after their Captain’s Run between 4pm – 5pm.
Next day, Friday 11 April, see West Coast again in their final Unley appearance with a Captain’s Run between 12pm – 1.30pm.
Later, it’s the Tigers’ turn to run a Junior Clinic, so register your keen youngsters for this session from 4pm – 6pm.
If you’re a Giants fan, register for Greater Western Sydney’s Junior Clinic on Saturday 12 April between 1pm – 2pm.
The City of Unley welcomes all four clubs and their fans to Unley Oval for any or all of these sessions. Please come along and enjoy the fun, with free access to your footy heroes in the build-up to all the action of Gather Round.
We remind all visitors to Unley that our iconic Oval is situated in the heart of the city, close to award-winning hotels, cafes, restaurants and retail businesses on nearby Unley Road, and only a short stroll from popular dining and retail precinct, King William Road.
Enjoy a coffee, beverage or first-class meal from a range of quality establishments before or after Gather Round events, all within easy walking distance from the Oval!
