Seeking business expertise

The Committee is comprised of up to six Independent Members and two Elected Members and the positions we are seeking expressions of interest for are those of Independent Member and Presiding Member.

These positions offer a two-year appointment, with members expected to attend a minimum of three meetings annually. Sitting fees will be provided per meeting attendance, with $250 for Independent Members and $300 for the Presiding Member.

The City of Unley is currently working with its community to develop a 2050 vision for the city in a new Community Plan and City Plan. Economic development and the growth of the city is at the centre of this ambitious future.

The primary focus of the committee is to provide strategic advice on fostering growth and development within the City of Unley's economy and broader business environment. BEDAC will identify key issues and opportunities across the council area and use strong networks and linkages to position the City of Unley as a leader in business, strategic projects and economic development.

In particular, the Committee will support the creation of Council’s Economic Development Growth Strategy 2026-2030, offering strategic insights and leveraging opportunities to enhance local economic outcomes. This includes driving growth in employment, attracting new businesses, supporting home-based enterprises, and cultivating new industries in the region.

Expressions of interest should provide details of the applicant’s experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications that will enable them to undertake BEDAC’s functions as outlined in the Committee’s Terms of Reference.
