It caters for passengers of all ages - and for anyone who is disadvantaged in their transport needs.

Perhaps you don’t own a car, you’ve had an injury or some restriction that prevents you from driving, or for whatever reason have found yourself without transport. Or you may live some distance from a public transport route.

You can register for the Community Bus to visit various destinations across Unley to do your shopping, get to a medical appointment, catch up with friends, or visit the library or one of our community centres.

The service is supported by a team of Unley’s wonderful volunteers, who are greatly valued and appreciated by our passengers. We’re currently recruiting for both Helper and Driver roles.

Passenger Ray says: ‘We love the bus staff, they’re fantastic, and always so helpful. I gave up driving recently and the bus has been a godsend.’

Volunteer Steve says: ‘Volunteering has a positive impact and allows me to meet people I normally wouldn’t - it’s a great way to get to know your community better. Everyone who accesses this service is grateful for its convenience and the help we offer.’

Registering as a passenger is easy. Just call 8372 5131 or visit the City of Unley website and search ‘Community Bus’.

If you have questions, or you’d like to consider volunteering with the Community Bus program, please contact our friendly coordinator to find out more.

We’d love to hear from you!
